Terry Jones, a lifelong Texas metal artist, has lived in Jewett, Texas for 29
years.  He and his wife Carla are the owners of Trademart Antiques.  They
have been in business for 15 years.  It was at the antique shop 4 ½ years ago
where Terry first began to weld his unique metal sculptures, and began
sculpting his masterpieces ever since. The Sculptures range from life size
horse and bullheads to whimsical fish and everything in between. Each piece is
made from objects that link the past to the future.
Shyness is not a word that is in Mr. Jones’ vocabulary.  He has been
featured in magazines, newspapers, radio stations, and television.  He and his
artwork have been presented on television shows such as: Texas Country
Reporter, Channel 7 Proud of East Texas, and Channel 13 news out of
Houston, Texas.  Not only has he made television appearances he has also
been featured on KAMU radio out of College Station, Texas.  Magazines such
as Texas Longhorn Trails, Texas Lawman and The Horizon have all featured
him and his sculptures.  Also numerous newspapers around the country have
highlighted articles pertaining to this metal sculptures. He has also won
several awards with his sculptures.
Presently we are working with 2 police departments in destroying
confiscated weapons and the incredible process of turning those pieces into
art.  Local Leon County Sheriff’s Department has found new life for their
seized weapons!  They have teamed up with Mr. Jones to turn what was once
used in violent acts into fine art sculpture.  All the weapons seized by the Leon
County Sheriff’s Department from 2004-2005 were used in the life sized horse
head named “Confiscated”.  Alongside the Leon County Sheriff’s Department,
Terry is also working with League City Police Department on making their
seized weapons into fantastic works of sculpture.
The Butler Longhorn Museum commissioned Mr. Jones to sculpt a life sized
bull head titled “The Butler Longhorn”.  It is now being displayed in the
museum.  All weapons used in the Butler Longhorn were confiscated weapons
from League City Police Department.  Most pieces are purchased by private
collectors around the country these pieces included sculptures such as: dogs,
ducks, fish and hog heads.  One of the main attractions @ Bullfest 2007 in
Robstown, Texas was another life sized bull head.  For public viewing you can
find his artwork displayed at Texas Freshwater Fisheries in Athens, Art
galleries such as The Art of the Isles, The Peck Gallery in Galveston  Attoyac
River Gallery in Center Texas, Lampros Gallery in The Woodlands, Trademart

State Fair of Texas, Gaylord Resort in Grapevine Texas, and also The Butler
Museum,   are now featuring Mr. Jones’ metal sculptures. Mr. Jones is also a
member of TSOS and Texas Sculpture Association.
Ultimately, the story goes that owning his antique shop has given Mr. Jones
the inspiration to create these unique sculptures.  According to him, there are
always so many found objects that were just lying around; he loves the fact
now they have a new purpose in a work of art.  Mr. Jones invites you to visit
